20 consecutive days and counting…

January 24th, 2009 · No Comments

I have now completed 20 consecutive days of work on this project without a day off.  The project has been challenging in all aspects and we’ve stumbled a few times along the way.  The good news is that it should be wrapping up next week so I can get some sleep, go for a run and catch up with friends and family.

I received an e-mail this week suggesting that I might be heading to S. Africa for a project immediately after this one is completed.  I’ve never been to S. Africa, so that would be pretty cool.  I joked with Melisse that at least I’ll have several hours on the plane to enjoy some time off between projects. That’s about all for now.  Next week should be fun…I get picked up at 4:30 AM on Monday to go to the airport.  I will fly to Zurich for a 3 hour meeting at the airport, head to Vienna for a 4 hour meeting, and then back to Germany for the rest of the week.  3 countries in one day may be a new record for me!

While I haven’t really kept up on any news, I did get a chance to read a few headlines from yesterday’s FT that was left in the office.  I was very surprised to glance at one that stated that Britain may have to go to the IMF for help to prop up the economy.  I guess I shouldn’t be surprised based on the plunge of the pound over the past 6 months.
