Boulder to London

My favourite holiday growing up was always the 4th of July.   I wish I could say the reason I loved it so much was a strong sense of patriotism, but acually it is mostly that I love summer, hanging out at the lake, fireworks and an extra day off during the hottest time of the year.  I have a number of great 4th of July memories including large family BBQs, trips to the ball park, long weekends at Newman Lake, camping at Lake Roosevelt and a couple of days at lake Tahoe.  A bit of me misses the times when everyone could go down to the local stand and buy enough explosives to shake the windows of every house in the neighbourhood, but it’s probably best that most displays these days are done by professionals that haven’t been hitting the bottle all day.  As a Londoner, there is not much going on for the 4th of July and I definitely miss hanging out with family and friends.  I hope everyone has a fabulous 4th of July and takes a few minutes to remember all of the things that make America great!
