Survived the G-20 and headed to the States

April 4th, 2009 · No Comments

So for everyone that saw the G-20 riots in the news, you’ll be happy to know that I came through it unscathed.  Actually, even though I work in the city, and wear a suit to work, I was not hassled, confronted or otherwise messed with during the event.  I did get a number of e-mails asking if I was out rioting…I responded that I was out fighting the good battle for Capitalism!

Today I’m getting ready for a trip back to the States.  I don’t think I’ve been back to Spokane since I left last July, so it will be good to head over, see my family and enjoy a few days away from the office.  On my way there, I get to swing by Colorado and hang out with friends in Denver, Boulder and Ft. Collins.  I look forward to seeing everyone and getting back to fresh air, sunshine and mountains, even if it is only for a few days.

This week was pretty cool.  I was able to meet up with a group of GE folks that were in town for a few days.  I hadn’t seen any of them since I left two years ago and it was by chance that I found out they were even in town.  I also was able to connect with a friend of a friend from the states.  Slowly but surely, the social network is expanding.

If all goes well, I’ll put a few postings up from CO and WA…unfortunately, Melisse took the camera to Mexico so they will have to be text only.  Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
